A 71.1-meter-long wooden replica of the treasure ship on which Admiral
Zheng He (1371-1433) undertook seven voyages in the 1400s.
Various Chinese historical sources hold that the biggest treasure ship
was about 127 meters long and 52 meters wide.
Columbus or Zheng He? Debate rages on !
China was ahead of the world in most
areas of development. He's fleet was larger than anything the world had
known, with expeditions of up to 317 ships and around 28,000 men aboard
— experts calculate 20,000 of them were military men. Crews with
interpreters of many languages, astrologers, astronomers, doctors,
pharmacists, entertainers, diplomatic and protocol experts to
coordinate official receptions with dignitaries in the more than 35
countries visited.
The intent of the voyages was to create
a showcase of the splendor and strength of the Ming dynasty not trade,
conquer or as a crusade to promote China's religions. "These were
friendly diplomatic activities. During the overall course of the seven
voyages to the Western Ocean, Zheng He did not occupy a single piece of
land, establish any fortress or seize any wealth from other countries.
In the commercial and trade activities, he adopted the practice of
giving more than he received, and thus he was welcomed and lauded by
the people of the various countries along his routes,"

China grips technology to brake world fastest train: scientist
Li also disclosed China will put dual-powered high-speed trains into operation next year, with self-owned intellectual properties. The trains, driven by electric force and cells, will mainly be used for inter-city routes traveling 200-250 km.p.h., leaving no emissions.
Dual-powered trains are fueled with cells in areas without electric traction.
"The technology will fill the technology gap in the world and mark a major breakthrough in the research of high-speed train dynamics," said Li. China grips technology to brake world fastest train: scientist
